For Our Children, And the Children of the World - Molly Anne Thelosen

My youngest daughter, Sophia, has always reminded me how delicate, hopeful, and full of

possibility childhood is. When she was four, I brought her with me to Afghanistan, and watching her meet Afghan children her age is a memory that has shaped me ever since. Two children, side by side, both full of innocence, curiosity, and promise. Yet living in profoundly different worlds, one with every resource to grow and flourish, the other facing obstacles no child should ever have to face.

That contrast stayed with me. It revealed, with heartbreaking clarity, how preventable so much suffering is, and how urgent it is for us to create tools that honor the equal worth of every child.

Dr. Zamaryalai and I chose the name Sophia for our app because it means wisdom, a guiding light shared across cultures and religions, and because it is a name found in nearly every country. But even more than that, it reflects who we are as parents. I am a mother of four children, and Dr. Zamaryalai is a devoted father of three. Naming the app after Sophia is our way of honoring the love we carry for our own families, and extending that love outward to children everywhere.

This project is not simply technology. It is an expression of responsibility, care, and hope. It is a

bridge between worlds: between a little girl who has every opportunity and the countless

children who do not, and a commitment to making sure none of them are overlooked.

Sophia represents the wisdom we owe to the next generation and the compassion that must

guide the tools we build for them.
