Our first initiative focuses on producing a fortified food product designed for Afghan children, providing essential nutrients that support growth, brain development, and everyday health while creating jobs and economic opportunity.

Nourishing Growth, Powered by Innovation
Barakat Nutrition is beginning with a fortified nutrition product designed to complement children’s daily meals with key nutrients for brain development, immunity, and healthy growth. Inspired by trusted products in the U.S. and Europe, our formulations are adapted for Afghan families to be affordable, locally relevant, and suited to regional tastes, using Afghan-sourced ingredients whenever possible.
Each product will feature a QR code linking directly to our AI-powered mobile application, giving parents and caregivers access to growth tracking, developmental milestone monitoring, and personalized nutrition guidance in their own language. This approach uses Afghanistan’s high mobile connectivity to put practical, culturally relevant tools in the hands of families.
Beyond supporting parents, this system also creates an innovative way to track distribution and usage, providing real-time insights into product reach and impact. This technology can be expanded to other health and nutrition products, creating scalable models for improving child well-being while strengthening local systems.
Technology & Innovation
At Barakat Nutrition, we believe technology is key to shaping the future of child health and development in Afghanistan. We are building our work as a platform for tech-enabled care, supported by Afghan talent and global expertise.
We will work closely with Gravity, a U.S.-based AI company founded by former Google executives, to build advanced tools and systems that can serve Afghan families while setting a high standard for quality, data security, and innovation. Together, we will design AI-powered systems that help caregivers, communities, and producers track growth, monitor usage, and ensure that support reaches the right child at the right time.
A key part of our approach is partnering with local tech talent in Kabul, creating opportunities for Afghan developers and data specialists to contribute to meaningful projects that serve their communities. By investing in the Afghan tech sector, we aim to strengthen the country’s technology landscape while ensuring that our solutions are locally relevant, sustainable, and scalable.
